Yellow paper dress
An American collectable, made famous from a "Mademoiselle" article in 1967 called "The Big Paper Craze." Now this, as you know, is an advertising piece, in the form of a dress, that was actually sent to people, free of charge in the late '60s.The phenomenon of paper fashion was truly a cultural statement of its time. According to University of Wisconsin's Jody Clowes, curator of the Gallery of Design's exhibition, “Disposable Dresses: Throw-Away Design from the 1960s”, "These pieces represent a fascinating chapter in American pop culture. They reflect the experimental, optimistic approach of the textile, chemical and paper industries in mid-20th century."
